Brown Bear ABA Clinic provides individualized Applied Behavior Analysis therapy for children who need support with communication, independence, play, social skills, daily routines, and behavior.

In-home ABA

In-home ABA therapy helps children practice meaningful skills where daily life happens. Goals may connect to mealtime, transitions, communication, hygiene, play, sibling interaction, and family routines.

Common ABA goals

Every treatment plan is individualized, but many families seek ABA therapy for practical skills they can see at home, in school, and in the community.

Communication

Support requesting, responding, expressive language, and functional communication.

Daily skills

Practice routines, self-help skills, transitions, and independence.

Social play

Build play, peer interaction, turn-taking, and group-readiness skills.

Caregiver support

Help skills carry into home and community routines through parent collaboration.

A clear path from intake to care

Our intake process collects parent information, child information, insurance details, service needs, and schedule availability. From there, the team can review fit, explain next steps, and help families understand insurance requirements before services begin.

Individualized goals based on your child’s needs; Options for in-clinic and in-home ABA services; Coordination with speech and occupational therapy when appropriate; Support with insurance verification and scheduling.

ABA care guided by BCBAs

Brown Bear’s Board Certified Behavior Analysts, Dr. Jawahar Alvi and Dejan Milic, guide assessment and individualized ABA treatment planning. Your child’s plan connects clinical needs with priorities that matter to your family, such as asking for help, participating in routines, or playing with others. Goals and recommended therapy hours are individualized; no single schedule fits every child.

ABA uses an understanding of learning and behavior to teach useful skills and monitor progress. Your clinician can explain the purpose of each goal, how progress is measured, and when a plan needs adjustment. Treatment should support your child’s needs, communication, and everyday participation—not promise a cure or identical results for every family.

Review coverage

Assess and plan

A BCBA assesses needs and discusses goals, service setting, caregiver involvement, and recommendations.

Practice and review

The therapy team implements the plan and tracks progress, with BCBA oversight and caregiver collaboration.

ABA, speech therapy, and occupational therapy have distinct roles. When multiple services are appropriate, ask how providers can coordinate goals without replacing one another’s expertise.

ABA therapy questions from families

How many hours of ABA will my child need?

A BCBA makes an individualized recommendation after assessment. Scheduling also depends on family availability, staffing, and insurance authorization. We do not assign the same number of hours to every child.

Is clinic-based or in-home ABA better?

The right setting depends on the goals and your child’s needs. Clinic-based ABA offers a dedicated therapy environment; in-home ABA lets the team work within family routines. Your clinician can discuss the tradeoffs and availability.

Can you help with Medicaid or private insurance?

Our Schaumburg team can help verify Illinois Medicaid and selected private plans. Network participation, services, and benefits vary by location; confirm Lombard and Sugar Land coverage with their teams. Start with our insurance information and request verification for your exact plan and service.

Do I need a diagnosis before contacting you?

You can contact intake with questions at any stage. Coverage for ABA may require diagnostic records and other documentation; our team can explain what your plan requests. An ABA assessment is not the same as an autism diagnostic evaluation.
