ABA Parent and Caregiver Training

You know the everyday moments that are easiest—and hardest—for your child. Parent and Caregiver Training at Brown Bear gives you time to discuss those moments with the ABA team and practice strategies connected to your child’s treatment goals.

Guidance that fits your household

Training starts with your questions. You might want help with a transition, communicating a need, or participating in a daily routine. The clinician works with you to choose a manageable priority and explain how a recommended strategy fits the treatment plan.

Learning, practice, and feedback

A coaching conversation may include an explanation, a demonstration, guided practice, and feedback. You can ask questions and describe what happened when you tried a strategy. Recommendations can then be reviewed in light of your child’s progress and what is practical for your household.

Your role in the process

Bring your observations, preferences, and concerns. The purpose is to support your role as a caregiver, not to turn your home into a clinic. Parents, guardians, and other involved caregivers can ask about participating with appropriate consent.

Connected to your Brown Bear team

Our BCBAs include Dr. Jawahar Alvi and Dejan Milic. Ask which clinician will oversee your child’s plan and caregiver sessions. Learn about our assessment process and how training can connect with clinic-based or home-based ABA.
