Dr. Jawahar Alvi

Director & Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) — Brown Bear ABA Therapy for Autism, Schaumburg, IL

Dr. Jawahar has lived in the USA with a great vision to provide the best quality services for children with Autism and other developmental disabilities.

She began her career by working in a Montessori school for 6.5 years, where she dealt with many challenging behaviors. It was during this time that she decided to return to school and completed her certification in Early Childhood Education from the College of DuPage in Illinois.

Afterward, she earned a Master of Science in Special Education from Dominican University. During her Master's program, she was hired by PAEC (Proviso Area for Exceptional Children) as a high school teacher for children with severe multiple disabilities. At PAEC, she managed an extremely challenging environment, working with children who exhibited aggressive behaviors.

Her passion for helping children continued to grow, leading her to pursue postgraduate studies in Applied Behavior Analysis. This culminated in her becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) from Southern Illinois University. Additionally, she completed a Doctoral program in Clinical Psychology from California Southern University.

Dr. Jawahar has applied her skills in both school settings and in-home ABA therapy for children with Autism. She also had the honor of teaching two graduate classes in Special Education at Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She passed her Board Exams in September 2014 and has since served in various leadership roles including administrator, director, and CEO.

Her professional experience includes working with organizations such as Seguin Services (Cicero, Illinois), Clearbrook, Behavior Perspective, Autism Home Support, and she was also a founding partner of BASES USA, BASES Pakistan, and RIFE USA UAE.

Dr. Jawahar has contributed to many international humanitarian projects, focusing on educating individuals in the science of behavior analysis. She is an active member of the International Behavior Analyst Organization and serves on the Professional Advisory Board of the IBAO.
